This is a battery-operated portable General Electric a.m. transistor radio. Its solid build and heavy chrome front grill makes this radio almost indestructible! The entire radio (with the exception to the front) is wrapped in 100% genuine cowhide leather.

This radio also has an independent bass / treble control that is located under the main volume knob. This feature is what lifts the P-840-A above the standard transistor radio of its day. It runs on 6C cell batteries “included” .

This radio has been restored and converted with a direct MP3/iPhone line-in. Bluetooth upgrade, and AC 120v (wall power) upgrade available.
